The Mind
Buy ticketsMemories, times, and places converge in a poetic, hopeful, and deeply moving documentary about leaving one life behind to create another.
When the Iranian regime forced university lecturer Roozbeh Janghorban to manipulate exam images, it became a turning point in his life. From that moment, his goal was to give a voice to people silenced by the regime, but it wasn’t long before he himself was forced to flee. Janghorban and his wife ended up in Sweden, specifically in Harads, a small village 50 kilometers northwest of Boden. Initially, he found himself in an unfamiliar world, but one day he was invited to explore the community’s archive of historical photos. Through the memories of others, Harads gradually became a part of him. At the same time, his own photographs of newcomers from around the world became part of Harads’ archive. The Mind tells one man’s personal story, but it is also a testament to the power of images to connect people across time and space.
