A tight drama thriller where a ghostwriter stumbles upon life-threatening conspiracies at the highest echelons of international politics.

Following accusations of war crimes, former Prime Minister Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan) lives in exile in a lavish architectural villa on the windswept East Coast of the United States. A nameless writer (Ewan McGregor) arrives to reluctantly complete the top politician's memoirs but soon realizes that all is not well. The first warning sign emerges when the writer discovers that his predecessor died under mysterious circumstances, and as it becomes apparent that the International Criminal Court is about to close its case against Lang, he is drawn into a gripping world of intrigue and secrets.
