Kix
Buy ticketsPunky skate video meets high-energy social realism, in a raw, personal, and political twelve-year coming-of-age story from the streets of Budapest.
In a beautifully gritty intersection of Axel Danielson's Twin Brothers and Larry Clark's Kids, we follow young Sanyi from an eight-year-old boy to a twenty-year-old young man. He is part of a group of wild kids who, by chance, meet filmmakers Révész and Mikulán on the street, which sparks both a long friendship and an intimate, untamed, and deeply engaging film. The city's streets are Sanyi's playground and chaotic refuge from the often even more chaotic daily life in his family's cramped one-room apartment. He is a wild yet innocent child, but as the years go by, his actions have increasingly serious consequences, and the unsettling story eventually takes a tragic turn. Kix is a captivating and profoundly original film, distinguished by its heartfelt social commitment and emotional depth.
