The deeper meaning of cultural and spiritual belonging is explored in Homecoming, a personal documentary that follows the repatriation of Sami artifacts.

Sami relics are found in museums all over the world. In addition to everyday items like clothing and tools, these collections can include religious and sacred drums and sometimes even human remains. They all testify to colonial abuses and a culture and people that have been exploited and demonized throughout history. Today, some of these items are beginning to return to Sápmi, and for filmmakers Suvi West (Me and My Little Sister, GFF 2017) and Anssi Kömi, the encounter with the ancestors' belongings triggers not only urgent and insightful questions but also becomes a deeply emotional and moving experience.
