The last remnants in the refrigerator become ingredients in the farewell soup as Stefan, working in the construction industry in Brussels, plans to return home to Romania to visit his mother. Just before departure, during one of many walks, he encounters Shuxiu. She works part-time in a restaurant while studying mosses, specifically bryology. Her eye for detail fascinates Stefan, and their shared curiosity about nature brings them together. Here is a melancholic and serene homage to the course of nature, a beautiful and life-affirming contemplation of those small, serendipitous encounters that can broaden our horizons and open the door to reflection. Awarded Best Film in the Encounters section at the Berlin Film Festival.
