Gasoline Rainbow
Buy ticketsFive laid-back small-town teenagers on a docufictional road trip towards the Oregon coast and 'The Party at the End of the World,' in a contemporary blend of Kerouac and Easy Rider.
When high school is over, a moderately disillusioned group of teenagers decides to embark on one last adventure of freedom before the seriousness of life sets in. Their destination is the Pacific Ocean, which none of them have seen, and a party that's supposed to be really badass. The brothers Bill Ross IV and Turner Ross follow up Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets (2020) with a kind of punk version of The Wizard of Oz, or perhaps the "On The Road" of the TikTok' generation, where they mix reality and fiction and let a flowing, profanity-laden dialogue emerge with - and between - people on the fringes of society. It's magically beautiful – emotional and sad, but also insanely funny – about a lost generation. And fuck, what a soundtrack.
