The singer Touda's liberated and forceful personality, combined with her talent and beauty, makes her irresistible to some and a target for others who cannot tolerate a woman with such a strong presence. The violent attempts by those around her to control and suppress her are met by her uncompromising artistic spirit, which refuses to bend. With dreams of success as a traditional Moroccan singer and better opportunities for her hearing-impaired son, she moves to the capital, Casablanca.
