Elfriede Jelinek – Language Unleashed
Buy ticketsAward-winning deep dive into the past of Nobel laureate in literature, as well as Austria’s love-hate object, Elfriede Jelinek.
Language terrorist, feminist, genius. But also traitor according to some. Through multifaceted archival images from both private and public life, we are offered an insight into how Elfriede Jelinek came to be who she is. With superb editing, we are hypnotically led through the author’s life accompanied by her typical prose and forgotten interviews that were done before 2004. Filmmaker Claudia Müller, known for her strong female portraits, shows us in this fascinating documentary that any thing we cherish has many names. The film was awarded the FIPRESCI prize at the Munich Film Festival earlier this year.
