During the magical summers of childhood, Léo and Rémi play in the Belgian countryside. They run after each other among meadow flowers, draw pictures of each other, and play war against enemies that only exist in their imaginations. Their friendship runs deep, intimate, and physically free-and-easy. But in the fall, middle school begins, and their classmates notice how they lean their heads against each other’s shoulders.
