Camila Comes Out Tonight
Buy ticketsConscious teenage girl experiments with love and seeks revenge on the boys in the class in unruly coming-of-age story – with a twist.
Camila attends a school in Mar del Plata when her grandmother in Buenos Aires gets sick and the whole family moves there. The 17-year-old Camila is a conscious teenager, keen on trying out most things, for example love life where she, just like the dying maternal grandmother, tests both male and female companionship. When it is time for the exam at the new, very conservative school, Camila and her friends pursue dreadful revenge on the male classmates who have sexually harassed the girls. In many of South America’s countries, youths have taken up the fight against conservativism. Ines Maria Barrionevo is a director who now in three vibrating films has succeeded at capturing this strong battle for new values.
