Borrowed Time
Buy ticketsAt a fruit market in Hong Kong, Mak searches for a father she hasn't seen in twenty years, in a debut film with impressive imagery and acting.
Mak's father is originally from Hong Kong but married and had children in Mainland China before returning to Hong Kong after ten years. Now, with her wedding approaching, Mak seeks reconciliation. All she knows about her father is that he works at a fruit market. Mak wanders through Hong Kong's blue summer nights along the endlessly long streets of the wholesale fruit and vegetable market, which glows with colors and scents. The summer typhoon is coming, and Mak gets help from an old acquaintance in her search. Borrowed Time is not just a film about Mak's search for her father; it's also a story about how the relationship between China and Hong Kong has changed over these years.
