Buy ticketsRomantic drama simmering with nuance about finding love, both in life and in one's parent.
Oliver (Ewan McGregor) is a 38-year-old designer whose father, Hal (Christopher Plummer), has just passed away from cancer. Hal lived in the closet for most of his life, but after coming out as gay in his final years, he blossomed with newfound joy for life. The narrative shifts between tender flashbacks from the last years of his father's life and the ebullient romance between Oliver and actress Anna (Mélanie Laurent), whom he falls head over heels for after a series of failed relationships. Mike Mills (20th Century Women, GFF 2016) delicately blends tentative romance with a son's grieving process in a nuanced drama about the complexity of love.
