Directors Talk: Thomas Vinterberg

Directors Talk: Thomas Vinterberg

The festival's most talked about directors and actors discuss film, career, and art. The talks are moderated by the programme committee. Ticket for the film screening is needed to attend the Talk.
Thomas Vinterberg is one of the Nordic countries' most prominent filmmakers and recipient of the festival's Nordic Honorary Award. He made his breakthrough in 1998 with the film The Celebration, in which a son confronts his father and his friends with an unbearable truth. The film was made according to the rules of the Dogma Manifesto that Vinterberg created together with three other Danish directors, including his friend Lars von Trier, to highlight purity and authenticity in storytelling. Since then, Vinterberg has made films such as The Hunt with Mads Mikkelsen and the Oscar-winning Another Round as well as the drama series Families Like Ours. He is currently working on the film adaptation of The Brothers Lionheart.
