The story of the jazzy bossa nova virtuoso Tenório Jr. and his mysterious disappearance in 1976 is brilliantly portrayed in this bold and masterfully animated cinematic gem.

The duo of Trueba and Mariscal, known for their festival hit Chico & Rita (GFF 2011), is back with a new, musically vibrant story based on real events. Francisco Tenório Júnior was an exceptional pianist and composer whose distinctive fusion of jazz, bossa nova, and traditional Brazilian music made him famous beyond Brazil's borders. However, he had only just turned 34 when he disappeared without a trace after a performance in Buenos Aires. Music journalist Jeff from New York (Jeff Goldblum) decides to uncover what really happened, leading to a journey back to the tumultuous times when several South American countries, including Brazil and Argentina, fell under totalitarian regimes. And, most importantly, back to the golden age of bossa nova.
