A Soviet missile turns a small village in northernmost Finland into the focus of global politics in a subtle humoristic drama comedy tinged with darkness.

The year is 1984. Single mother of two, Niina (Oona Airola), ask for a job at the local newspaper (after first accidentally crashing their windows) while trying to move on from her abusive relationship. Her role as a local reporter rarely offers exciting assignments, but when an unidentified object causes a violent explosion, she finds herself at the heart of the action. Comedy and absurdity, as well as deep humanity, are never far away in Miia Tervo's (Aurora, GFF 2019) new film, where both Niina's and the nation's boundaries are pushed to the limit.
