Kidnapped bride-to-be fights for survival and revenge in the lawless Sahel region in a nail-biting thriller drama with a feminist agenda.

Sira belongs to the nomadic Fulani people and travels, along with her family, in a traditional and carefree manner through the desert towards her wedding with a Christian man. During a stop, the camp is suddenly brutally attacked by a terrorist extremist group. Sira finds herself abducted by the terrorist leader and dumped in the middle of nowhere when he's done with her. Apolline Traoré's fifth, Berlin-awarded, film is an intense and relentlessly thrilling story of a woman who refuses to give up but also a tale of hidden female solidarity and - love. A kind of unique blend of harsh realism and adventure melodrama, in incredibly beautiful color palettes.
