A solitary chicken farmer meets a Frenchman online and embarks on a life-changing journey to Paris in this Taiwanese feel-good gem with dark undertones.
Approaching 40, Hui-Jun lives on her chicken farm in the countryside. The fact that she still hasn't found love is not accepted by those around her. When her niece creates a dating profile for her, potential suitors start pouring in. Using the online alias 'Salli,' named after the farm's rooster, she begins to communicate with the Frenchman Martin. Everyone warns her that it's a scam, and indeed, Martin soon starts asking her for money to jointly purchase an apartment in Paris. But instead of sending the money, Hui-Jun decides to travel to Paris to hand it over in person. Esther Liu shines in this charmingly romantic comedy about daring to leave one's comfort zone to discover oneself.
