From inside the examination rooms of a gynecological clinic, she uses her sharp and empathetic gaze to focus on the encounters between patients and doctors. A young woman agonizes over her unwanted pregnancy, a transgender woman shares her psychological and physical transition challenges, a doctor takes her patient's hand and delivers the worst possible news. Then suddenly, Simon herself becomes a patient, and this masterful film about the complexity of life and death expands with deeply personal dimensions.
