Belgian-Congolese Baloji offers a magical chaotic film about the longing both for liberation from and acceptance by a family marked by trauma.

After growing up in Belgium, separated from his original family in Congo-Kinshasa, Koffi returns, accompanied by his wife to be, to reconnect with and do right by a family he hasn't seen in decades, before becoming a father himself. The return to a society in free fall and relatives, who receives him with coldness to say the least, becomes a turbulent experience, physically and emotionally. In the same city lives Paco – a hardened street kid and gang member, whose life revolves around the immense grief for his beloved lost sister. By coincidence, their paths cross, offering them both an opportunity for reconciliation and peace.
