Mr. Bachmann and His Class
Buy ticketsMultiply awarded audience favorite about the unconventional and incredibly inspiring teacher Dieter Bachmann and his fascinating microcosm of a classroom.
Welcome to class 6B at the Gerhard Büchner School in Stadtallendorf. Here, they jam and juggle during lessons, and if the students feel tired, they are free to lie down on the couch. But if there is less focus on grammar and math at times, it is more important for Bachmann to teach his students to think for themselves and solve conflicts through dialogue, even if certain rules must be followed. Maria Speth’s double Berlinale winner is an exceptionally immersive and encouraging documentary. A film that has already charmed audiences and critics, but that also should be seen by teachers, politicians and others with views about problems and solutions in the schools of our time.
