A hard-boiled intergalactic detective on a covert mission pursues a malevolent supercomputer in Jean-Luc Godard's dystopian AI thriller, set in a lo-fi sci-fi Paris.

The dictatorial supercomputer Alpha 60 rules the technocratic Alphaville with an iron fist. Love and poetry are strictly forbidden, dictionaries are purged of emotion-evoking words, and illogical behavior is punished with public executions in swimming pools. The secret agent Lemmy Caution is on an intergalactic mission to destroy Alpha 60 and kill its creator, Professor von Braun. Upon arriving in the city, however, he realizes that reality is more complex than he could have imagined. Jean-Luc Godard's Orwellian AI dystopia is an ultra-Godardesque sci-fi noir unlike anything else
